Nothing to Do!

So now that I have finished everything we were assigned, I can have some real fun. So i messed with the lighting and had some fun! I learned some contrast and color things and applied them and it turned out really sweet. I used a picture of me and four friends jumping on the beach. The picture has us all in the air with our reflections on the water in front of us. It's cool.

School Spirit Project

We had to do a project for our new improved school website. First of all I was going to do a parking lot full of cars with Flathead license plates, but that was just not working. So I decided that the license plates were sweet so I photoshopped them to  say DREAM and BELIEVE and ACHIEVE, which is our moto for this year. And I made a collage of them. And then I found the liquify tool....my new favorite besides the eraser :)

Typography project

Whew! I am so glad to be done with this project. It was so time consuming. My cousin/best friend sent me a picture of herself and so I created it with words using photoshop. I love photoshop! It took awhile, and I learned how to use the burn tool (never heard of it before) which was pretty sweet. The thing that took the longest was her hair. I had to think up words to describe her, and I do believe there is only a few repeated. Overall, it was fun, but I am ready to move on

logos

I discovered that the initials in my name are kind of hard to work with to create a logo. There is not that much stuff you can do with a T and a R. But it's good practice anyways. I keep getting good ideas and then they never work out.

Finished with vector portrait!!!!

I finished my vector portrait. I am so sick of staring at myself! I was very unsure of how to do the hair and I wound up redoing it at least ten times and then I went and looked at other examples where I came up with the idea of black with fuchsia and gray. Then I moved on to the next problem--the background....I had no idea what to even start with, and then I went and looked at the spray paint tool. It is now my hero, my favorite tool. I love it!

Progress on my self portrait

I have to give credit to Mr. Hansen-he is the one that gave me the idea of having the reflection in my sunglasses be of a city. To create that, it has taken me all week. It was really hard to do all of the little buildings and figure out how to do the background behind it. I decided I wanted a sunset behind the buildings, so I did that with the gradient tool. The buildings are darker blues and purples, and I haven't finished putting the yellow windows in yet, but I can do that later on. I really need to work on getting the face shading done, and I still need a nose. But I think that this is a really fun, relaxing project. It definitely tests my patience out.

Starting my Self Portrait

This week I have mainly concentrated on thinking how i would like to do my self portrait project. I have worked in my sketch book a little bit, and I am not really clear on how I want it. I am thinking I would like to do it in black and white, with maybe rainbow colored sunglasses and hair to make a contrast. I have not yet figured how to make things rainbow, so I will have to mess around with Illustrator some more. The pen tool for Illustrator has now become my hero, because it makes it so much easier to trace around things, such as my hair. And I also discovered that it makes life way easier to put things on separate layers, so now I have layers for hair, sunglasses, shape of face, etc. I have a feeling this project is going to take quite awhile to finish.
